Privacy Policy – BPL Collector's App

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Buildprize Limited ("the Company") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data through the BPL Collector's App. The App is a field-data collection tool specifically designed for our sales representatives and authorised employees operating in Nigeria. By using the App, you acknowledge the terms of this Policy.

2. Data Controller Information

Buildprize Limited is the Data Controller responsible for the processing of your personal data.

3. Scope of the Policy

This Policy applies to personal data processed through the App by employees, such as sales representatives and field staff, acting in the course of their employment to record and submit data as part of their duties.

4. Categories of Data Collected

The App collects several types of information to facilitate field operations:

User (Employee) Data: Full name, staff ID, email address, phone number, job role, and login credentials.
Automatically Collected Data: GPS location data (captured during check-ins and visit logging), device information (OS, unique identifiers), and activity timestamps.
Third-Party Data (Customers/Outlets): Business names, addresses, contact person details (names/phone numbers), and photographs of premises or products for verification.

5. Purpose and Lawful Basis for Processing

In compliance with Section 25 of the NDPA, we process data for the following reasons:

Authorised supervisors and HR personnel.
Internal IT staff maintaining the App.
Regulatory authorities where required by Nigerian law.

7. Data Security and Retention

We employ technical measures including encryption of data in transit, role-based access controls, and secure authentication to protect your information. Data is retained for the duration of employment plus a reasonable period to meet legal, audit, or dispute-resolution requirements, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

8. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under the NDPA, you have the following rights regarding your data:

Right to access a copy of your personal data.
Right to correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure (subject to legal and contractual limitations).
Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

9. Employee Responsibilities

Users must use the App strictly for legitimate business purposes and avoid collecting excessive or unnecessary personal data. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and reporting any suspected unauthorised access.

10. Changes to This Policy

Buildprize Limited reserves the right to update this Policy to reflect changes in technology or legal requirements. Material changes will be notified to Users in advance.
